Chapter One: Assimilation

[Scribe's Note: Opening the storyline of Her Majesty's Scarlet Empire commencing - the prologue was a bit of background regarding the Empire's formation and history :D]

The Empress immediately ascended to the Scintillating Throne of Jade after her spectacular heroism. With a vast cadre of soldiers and mages that had sworn their allegiance to their savior from the Legion of the Soulles, she personally led a series of campaigns across the Perfect Land with hopes of uniting all the fragmented territories and domiciles that had fallen into disarray and chaos after the benevolent Emperor's death.

Word immediately spread faster than wildfire across the expanding bounds of the Scarlet Empire about the ascension of the Empress and soon many bore witness to the Empress personally leading battles against the still-chaotic factions that had torn up the Empire. From greedy noblemen and landlords claiming rights over the lands to rebellious warlords that had long awaited the Emperor's death, the new Scarlet Empress dealt with all of them. Although her powers and abilities were more inclined on the purity and sanctity of life, she was without mercy in annihilating all opposition, as supported by her vastly growing army. Morale was reinstated as the towns and territories slowly fell back to the Empire's control.

Within a year of her reign, the Perfect Land was unified and whole once again, on the lookout for one another for manifestations of the Soulless Legion that had long threatened their peace. The Scarlet Empress retired to her Palace in Dragon City and assembled her personal cabinet, a specialized team of the very best of the Empire's strategists, warriors, thinkers, and sages, all managing a specific division of the Empire and personally responsible to the Empress herself. The cabinet was christened as the 'Scarlet Council'.

As the new age dawned on the Empire, five major divisions each bearing the crest of one of the five elements have been established - Fire [Red], Water [Blue], Wood [Green], Earth [Yellow], and Metal [Black]. Under each division stood three territorial bounds called provinces, each ruled by a provincial Magistrate that served on a diplomatic body just below the ranks of the Scarlet Council.

Now, with everything in place, the Empress had little to bother herself with, now turning her attention to expanding her slowly growing empire by ensuring that her armies are expanding the borders and convening with the Scarlet Council to discuss matters of importance. Loyalty stood unquestioned and chaos had been nearly nonexistent since the 'Assimilation'.

Or is it?

Prologue: The Scarlet Empress

[Scribe's Note: Whatever is to be produced out of this story might or might not tally with what the Perfect World Immortal Keepers might have come up with regarding the storyline of Perfect World - nevertheless we shall take place sometime in the past.

Most of the plot was based off from what they have currently released - normally I take it in context with what they had indicated at their blog at the Imperial Gardens]

It was a great time of chaos for the Perfect Land as the unfortunate death of the benevolent Emperor Zhuan Xu threw the empire into a state of complete Anarchy. Chaos reigned without the presence of a centralized and organized government and here and there petty fights escalated into dangerous conflicts over simple matters of arguments. Even the once loyal bureaucrats of the Imperial Palace had succumbed to corruption and the empire's treasury suffered under their grasp.

The misery did not end there, for the Perfect Land was beset by a deadly plague that mysteriously spread from the wastelands in the West and found its way to the cities and its outskirts, destroying crops and orchards and afflicting the citizens with a vile disease that burned their bodies in feverish delusions and killed a majority of the population. The best pharmacists of the land attempted to quell the plague with their knowledge of herbs and medicines, but by the time the last trace of the disease was obliterated the Perfect Land had already suffered numerous losses, from all walks of life.

To make matters worse, the Soulless Legion saw the death of the Emperor and the plague as the perfect opportunity to strike, for they gathered in the borders of the major cities in huge numbers and within several days assaulted the outskirts of the towns and villages, razing everything that they passed through and killing off all resistance. The plague had considerably weakened the Empire's military force, and the armies almost instantly fell at the attacks of the Soulless, who seemed to revel in the chaos that still reigned.

However, in the midst of everything else, one woman dared to stand up to the increasing threats of the Soulless - the woman that was to be known as the Scarlet Empress. From their treetop fortress in Feather City, where she served as a Yu Ling priestess along with her Yu Mang guards, they learned from the ancient texts about the existence of several powerful divine enchantments that possess great power even to level down mountains. Such were forbidden spells that have been sealed away in the underground catacombs of Dragon City, also known as the Tomb of Heaven, resting place for the great scholars and warriors of long past.

With the Soulless Legion barricading almost every major passage to the Imperial City, the small Wingkin group did what was the natural thing for them - they spread their wings and journeyed at high levels to prevent detection from the Soulless. Those winged beasts that caught up with them though were eliminated but with losses on their side as well until finally, when they reached the Imperial Capital it was just the priestess and five of her remaining guards that remained.

Using knowledge they had gained from the ancient texts, they easily broke through the enchantment of the catacombs and made their way inside, avoiding detection from the Soulless that now freely roamed the City. The catacomb itself was riddled with numerous traps and mysterious magical protections and the small group was faced with great danger as they navigated inside. Finally they reached the tomb chamber of the Divine Scholar, where the Book of Divine Edicts was placed for protection. Tapping into her god-given powers, the Priestess Fuuma Raya recited the Jing Hua Shi Jie - a world-scale purification spell.

The effects were almost instantaneous and cataclysmic. The Heavens seemed to rain with unspeakable power as the Perfect Land was enveloped with brightness that annihilated all the Soulless that freely roamed the land. Within minutes everything has been purged of the Soulless presence.

Emerging now just by herself from the catacomb, Fuuma Raya held the Book of Divine Edicts in her hands and made her presence known as the woman responsible for destroying the threat of the Soulless. The people at once swore their allegiance to their savior and with that she ascended to the Scintillating Throne of Jade as the Scarlet Empress - the woman who raised the power of the gods themselves to sweep upon their enemies.
